Strategy and operational matrix

During 2008 the African Management Development Institutes' Network (AMDIN) consulted with African Management Development Institutes (MDIs) on their needs and the validity of the strategic orientation crafted in 2005. The outcome of this process is documented in the "AMDIN Strategy and Operational Matrix for the period 2009 - 2012".

The strategy states that the Developmental Goal for AMDIN is to contribute to the development of Africa by strengthening democracy, good governance and public administration. By 2012 we would like to see that Empowered African MDIs effectively fulfil their developmental roles and mandate through knowledge exchange and networking.

Focus areas for the future Programme of Action highlighted in the document are:

Strengthened organisational and resource capacity for MDIs
Shared curricula and standards frameworks for continual performance improvement
Knowledge relevant to the development of African public sector capacity more readily available
Opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange and resource sharing increased
MDIs' contribution to African Public Sector Capacity Development extended beyond training to include organisational development, consulting services, research and policy advice

In addition, provision is made for building the governance and organisational capacity of AMDIN.

These areas will provide the overall structure against which AMDIN's activities for the period 2009 - 2011 will be organised.
